Subie newbie Young 360

Picked up a 360 last week that had been garaged since 1996. Missing Young steering wheel and front seats. I need a lot of parts. The photos tell the story.
I used the bed sides on my harbor freight trailer and $12 of lumber to make a car trailer.


Towed it home and parked in the front yard.






Brakes first.





If anyone has the following for sale, I would like to talk to you:
Front hood latch
Front hood emblem
Air cleaner housing
Muffler
Rim/Wheel
Front bumper
Boot for steering rack
Rear seat any condition
Battery bracket
All boots for engine ducting
Left door striker-the round pin
Hub caps
Young steering wheel
Young bucket seats
Dome lens
Parking brake cables
Headlight eyebrow
Points
Condenser
Distributor cap
Rotor
Rubber timing inspection plug.

Cleaned oil tank and put in fresh oil. Fresh oil in transmission. 12 volts to battery lead, ignition on and no power to coil. Pulled the spark plugs and they had never been fired (probably why the vehicle was parked in 1996). Put 30 weight into cylinders, by pass ignition system with 12 v directly to starter and turned engine over a few times. 12v to coil and no spark. Adjust points, no spark at points. Clean points with point file and now spark at points and plugs. Open carb butterfly, spray fuel in carb throat and the engine runs! Working on fuel tank , fuel diaphragm disintegrated. Awaiting new fuel diaphragm from Jon.

Nice looking young. I happen to have one too. Body looks really good and unmolested. Nice find.

Drop your oil pump before you go any farther. If it is turning easily by hand take the top off and make sure the worm gear has good teeth. Little John was covered with dirt and the oil line was cut and packed with dirt. I was sure the oil pump would be trashed but after a thorough cleaning It seems to function well. They are hard to find and easy to ruin and fix if the parts don't get ruined in the process.

If it's been running the pump is free Or if it was stuck, the pinion is more than likely stripped now.

I live in Orange County, CA. Thank you for the advice on the oil pump. I will look at it after I finish the brakes.

Oh by the way, the interior panels in your car are for a Deluxe, not a Young. If you are planing on getting the correct ones and want to sell the red ones, let me know. I need them for the 69 Deluxe we are restoring.

I plan on being on the road in about 2 weeks and looking forward to cruising PCH. I plan to take care of the mechanicals and interior, take it apart again and paint. Where in Los Angeles are you located? We will be installing new interior panels, but note that the panels I have are warped and one of the rear quarters broke in half. The material is in decent shape.

I don't have anything and I don't even know what the rear seats look like! One piece? Two piece? If not too much trouble, I would appreciate a photo.
