1970 360 Deluxe van,...what is the Deluxe package??

#1 Post by Fury Pursuit »

Hi to all!!!! I have a 1970 360 Deluxe van. What exactly makes up the "deluxe' package? The van has a roof rack, which I was told was a factory option. Was a roof rack ever an option? Also where can I find parts for these cars?????

Much thanks to all!!!!!!!!!!!!

The '68 and earlier vans all had 3-speed transmissions, all '69 an later were 4-speed. But the 3-door van (actually 4-door, because Subaru called their vans "5-door" is very rare in the US. Fred Johnston had several of the side panels for these, for the right side which had no cargo door. I have never seen a '69 or "70" van (the last ones impored were made in 11/69) without a "deluxe" emblem. If there was a "standard" model I don't think SOA imported them.

Right. The Club's reason for being is to help one another keep our Favorite Vehicles on the road, and running on both cylinders.

Who are you? Are you member yet? Can you e-mail me a pic of your shortened 360 sedan? It may be the one Stan Fine customized a long time ago - we published a color pic of it in Dec. 2004.

Thanks for the information, and all the advise. I'm a newbie to the Subie world, but I'm going to go for a ground up 100 point restoration if possible.

I'm joining the club tonight.

I'll try and post photos of the van if I can fiqure out how. !!!!!!!!

Cheers!
