Maybe you could incorporate some very small roller bearings like used in Remote control car wheels with 4 screws in the ends of the hoops. Sliding doesn't go easy, you have to take your time. One by one, piece by piece. Other way is to get the bows out. The bows are numbered, so I when take them out, I know where they came from.
